Can Christians be Homosexual?

Well, there has been a lot of talk about that over the years, and it’s talk that is not going away.  A while ago, a Harvard student named Matthew Vines delivered a talk where he spent 60+ minutes walking through the 7 main (or so he claims) passages that deal with homosexuality in the Bible.

Over at Alpha & Omega ministries, James White has spent 5 hours walking through every minute of his presentation and responding to it point by point, giving a thorough and biblical response to Matthew Vines presentation.

You can grab the talk by clicking here.  It’s a 70 meg file that is long, but it’s a resource worth having (hence I’m spreading the word).  If this issue hasn’t come up in your workplace or church yet, it will.  I predict that the issue of homosexuality will be a past-tense debate within the next 10 years in the MB conference, and in the next 15-20 years in many other conferences.  Christians and churches are falling apart on this issue everywhere, and the social pressure will eventually get to the point where pastors who even read Leviticus 18:22 or speak positively about “traditional” marriage will be labelled “homophobes” and be imprisoned.

I know…I’m a conspiracy nut and everything.  (*putting on tin foil hat*)

None the less, the testimony of history is clear.  The Lutherans, Anglicans, Methodists, Episcopalians, etc. have all blazed the same path that many of the conservative Christian denominations are now on, and history will continue to repeat itself.

Until Next Time,

Lyndon “The Armchair Sin-o-phobe” Unger
